October 2025 Honoree
McKenzie Snyder, BSN, RN
I am not a great patient. I have high anxiety, and I have some trust issues that cause me to panic. I have been to many hospitals and specialists, and sometimes I do not understand things properly. I have valid reasons from the past for my trauma; however, it is never known when I go into appointments. I understand it takes a special kind of person to connect with me, and I am so thankful McKenzie was with me prior to and during my procedure.
She had a calming attitude and allowed me to ask my questions without frustration. She went through all their procedures properly and acknowledged my anxiety and reassured me with resources to help with aftercare. She wanted to make sure I understood that I had paperwork, and a 24-hour phone line was always available. She was very comforting, understanding, but also professional.
I have a lot of background fear I do not need to tell everyone about; some nurses might go through the routine, but McKenzie is helping me get over my “hospital fear,” which is something to be proud of. I met her once, but I hope to meet her again. I just want to say thank you!

Thank you, McKenzie, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
