A few weeks ago, Veteran B called the Veteran Experience Office to give recognition and a BIG Thank you to Nurse Lafavor. Veteran B said, “She saved my life.” The Veteran explained that he has a suprapubic catheter and experienced continuous UTIs. Well, he thought that a miracle had happened when he “felt” that he was able to urinate regularly. Mr. B was at the pharmacy one day and happened to see Nurse Lafavor assisting another Veteran and began to share the news with her. She asked him some questions and then asked him to come upstairs to the clinic after he finished in the pharmacy so that she could assess the situation more thoroughly. This led to Nurse LaFavor discovering what was really going on, which, if left unchecked, would have caused the situation to not turn out well for him. The Veteran is so very thankful that Nurse Lafavor took the time to go above and beyond and would like to recognize her for it.
