There are so many examples of when Meagan Parker has made a difference on the L&D unit. As a Maternal Program Manager, she is very attentive and always looking for ways to improve patient care. One specific situation stands out recently. We had a maternal death in our facility which is a very heartbreaking and rare occurrence. Meagan immediately started thinking what could be done to prevent these situations if possible. She took the initiative to contact leaders with OFD and asked that members of her team be included in any debrief with them regarding the situation. This was very helpful because through this collaboration very useful information was shared which could make a difference in future situations involving a pregnant patient. Like mentioned earlier there are numerous incidents in which Meagan is made aware of a situation or problem and she instantly starts working on ways to improve outcomes. She has a passion for improving maternal healthcare. Not only within the facility but throughout West Texas. Her wheels are constantly turning and the ideas that she comes up with are always exceptional It also is amazing to see her work with the physicians. They all respect her because she has a way with talking with people and making them feel heard.
