This nurse went above and beyond to make my daughter feel comfortable. My daughter is 12 so being in the ER was scary and having this nurse take care of her, love her, and be with her was a HUGE blessing. Especially when the doctor asked me, Mom, to leave the room during the spinal tap. She was in tears and I immediately ran to get the nurse. She sat with my daughter and held her hands during the whole thing. By the time she was diagnosed with meningitis and was transported to TCH, she was family. We hugged and said our goodbyes.

Please note: After the spinal tap, my daughter saw the DAISY Award scroll on the screen in her room. She turned to me and said, “Mom, we need to nominate her, she needs that award.” So even though I am nominating, it was all my daughter’s suggestion.
