In the early hours of Sunday morning, my father was admitted with pneumonia, afib, dehydration, and a UTI. During his stay, he was cared for by wonderful staff, but Meagan stood out above the rest. Her cheerful voice and attitude really helped my dad as well as me. She was kind and took whatever amount of time needed to help my dad. He was confused and uncomfortable, but Meagan was so patient with him. She spoke soothingly and worked to make sure he was comfortable. Friday we made the difficult decision to place my father in hospice care. As we were getting ready to transport him to hospice, Meagan sat with him while my sister and I were wrapping up the paperwork and driving to the hospice center. I felt Meagan treated my father as if he was a close friend and not just a patient. It was easy to see how important patients are to her. She made sure the needs of my father were met as well as making sure our needs were met also. She was a shining light to us during the dark week for my dad and our family. Meagan is a wonderful flower in your hospital. She was always encouraging and helped to lift us up during a difficult time. We are not sure when my dad may pass but I do know we were blessed to have Meagan care for my dad.
