Meagan Shumate, RN

Meagan has stepped up and has done an exemplary job over the last year. She navigated a difficult transition with grace and professionalism. Meagan has gone above and beyond as Assistant Manager for both AMSU and ICU. Her commitment to the education and training of the staff is commendable. She advocates for the staff while still holding them to high standards. Meagan collaborates with her mentors. She is the go-to person for all things MedSurg and ICU. She can be counted on for her transparency and integrity. She is a valuable and integral part of our UHSMC team and family. Meagan is a prime example of what good leadership should be. When we lost Julia, she stepped up to the plate to handle the day-to-day tasks and did all she could to keep up morale. Meagan comes to work each day striving to give her all to her employees and the patients. She doesn't let her personal life interfere with her work. She tries her best to accommodate all PTO requests and keep the schedule fair. She is compassionate in the clinical setting and will not say no when we need help on the floor, no matter how full her schedule is. I appreciate Meagan very much, and we are lucky to have her.
