I was admitted to the adolescent inpatient psychiatry unit at the age of 17. This was the worst time of my life, and I felt incredibly alone. Meaghann would go out of her way to help me and all the other kids. She would walk into the room at the start of her shift with a huge smile and positive energy.

While I was there, my eating disorder relapsed. Meaghann would sit with me during meals if she was available. She would support me and take my mind off eating. At night, while I was asleep, she would sneak into my room and put Nutrigrain bars on my desk. We call her the “Nutrigrain fairy.” She slowly got me to start eating again.

Meghann made me want to become a nurse so I can help people the way she helped me. I am now in nursing school, and I'm a nursing assistant. Meaghann saved my life, and I couldn’t possibly thank her enough.
