I am placing this nomination on behalf of a patient and myself. Mechelle has been with the McAlester Clinic for numerous years now. During this time, she has received many compliments, from her great personality to her timely delivery of answers and/or care. This week, as I was seeing a mutual patient at his home, he voiced to me his gratitude to Mechelle. He states that she has been his nurse throughout the years and always ensures he is taken care of. This ranges from being prompt in returning calls and answering questions to going above and beyond during his care.

Recently, his memory has declined, and he needed more assistance with his medication. A healthy aging consult was placed, but in the meantime, Mechelle took the time to make a medication list with color coordination showing which medications needed to be taken in the morning and/or evening. He utilized this list over the weekend, and when Healthy Aging followed up the following week, he was able to independently set a medication planner and take it properly with the use of her list and method. Numerous times, he voiced his gratefulness for the care and time that she had always spent with him.
