It is really hard to choose just one story because of all of the amazing work that all of the nurses do in Medical Oncology at the Schwab Family Cancer Center. The Nurses, no matter what the position they are working on any given day, do their all to ensure that every patient is taken care of and all of their needs are met. All you have to do is go through the Oncology Center, and the patients will tell you their stories. You can also read the stories on the many cards and letters that are received from patients all the time. For patients needing food or a ride or any other thing in life, the Nurses make sure to reach out to the appropriate department to help, such as social work or dietary. Nurses will also take it upon themselves to help patients individually. Our nurses don't treat our patients like patients; we treat them like family because that is what they are to us. We love our patients and do everything we can to ensure that they have the best outcomes possible when being treated at our center. Cancer treatments can be scary, the cancer journey can be scary, and we make sure to take the time with our patients, answer questions, explain procedures and do everything we can to reassure our patients, as well as their family members. Our patients know in their hearts that we will be there, every step of the way, in this journey. We literally tell them that. We provide them with the phone numbers to call, and we tell them to call any time, and someone will get back to them as soon as possible. And our patients know we are there for them, no matter the need. There is no one nurse who stands out at the Cancer Center because we all work together as a team to ensure the very best outcome for our patients. We are an amazing team that works very hard together, we do anything for each other throughout the day because we know, in helping each other, we help our patients. We are constantly thinking of our patients and how we can best serve them. I feel that it is an amazing thing to see, the dedication and desire to serve our patients, that our Medical Oncology team of nurses possess. That is why I wanted to nominate everyone here. I know that we are all completely dedicated to excellence and outstanding, compassionate care of our patients and their families.

Thank you for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
