I was recently hospitalized for a bacterial infection in my breast, and I want to recognize some real heroes in my journey back to health! Dr. Bilhorn was kind and efficient in the Short Stay rooms. She identified the problem quickly and in a moment was able to describe my course of care. I need to receive an IV, and the nurse, Annie Vang-Thor, was gentle and magical in getting it placed.

On 3SW, two of my nurses really stood out. Martha was efficient with my care and connected with me like a friend. Haley kept me sane and entertained. Barb (director) helped me find resources to make me more comfortable.

Anneka on 5SW was so very kind to me when I needed my IV Abx late at night – she helped me rest through the dose; and the following morning when the coffee machine was out of service, she went out of her way to find me a fresh cup. She was amazing.

Last but not least, I’m very grateful for the kindness of Dr. Hsu. He was respectful of my knowledge and background in healthcare, he educated me on my options, and together we weighed the risks and benefits for treatment and diagnostics to get me home. I’m so grateful for the Doctor’s kindness, he made me a partner in my care. While there we certainly saw some low points in my 3-night stay, I really wanted to share the highlights so these heroes could be recognized.
