Nomination #1
MeeKuen was caring and quick from the moment my pressure dropped after the medication last night. She is kind and friendly all the time, and all my visitors were surprised by her fabulous service.
Nomination #2
MeeKuen was very kind and comforting. I was in pain and have not had a lot of caregivers who seemed compassionate. She is a lovely person. Sometimes it takes only a few kind words to help attitudes and, thus, feel better faster.
Nomination #3
MeeKuen was highly competent while being accessible and reasonable. That may seem mundane, but I’ve spent a great deal of time in various hospitals with my parents, and I’ve experienced hundreds of nurses. MeeKuen is willing to think things through and to accommodate simple patient requests like, “Is it possible to have a popsicle?”
She doesn’t presume to know better than the doctor but, rather, consults the doctor or reads the notes and explains her logic. She checks her patients thoroughly immediately after reports and consistently uses the notation board in the patient room. Some nurses ignore it, and it has important information. A lot of your nurses go the extra distance – taking care of patients an hour after their shift ends if an emergency occurs, or staying two hours after their shift because there is unfinished business.
I have seen a few extraordinary nurses while here, but my longest and, therefore, most informed interaction has been with MeeKuen on Floor Two IMC. And the C.N.A. who we hired to help keep Momma company agrees with me!
