Margaret is a nurse that exudes compassion and care who always care for her patients as a whole; their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. In one particular instance, she was caring for a woman who had been in the hospital for about a week and her hair was matted up into one giant knot. Meg spent two hours combing and shampooing the patient's hair and bathing her so she could feel better. This is just one example of her tender care.

Meg is constantly making a difference every "night shift" she works. She is an angel of the night for sure! She looks at each patient in the fullest sense of holistic! She sits on the bed, looks at the patient's eyes, always sees the good in all patients. It really is difficult to explain in just mere words the kind of warmth, compassion, magnanimity, ultra-humaneness that Meg exudes.
Recently we had a very young patient with many comorbidities, which none of his providers could put their finger on what was wrong as his conditions continued to deteriorate. Meg came in the 2nd of her three-night shifts, sat with the patient, stroked his forehead, and said, "We are here to look after you and we will get to the bottom of this!" She then performed his blood sugar, which less than an hour before had been perfect. It was indeed low and the patient needed treatment. Meg knew this by the patient's look because she truly almost studies each of her patients.
"Meg was so warm!", a patient just cried with emotion in telling how Meg touched her heart and made her feel so cared for.

Meg is a nurse who goes above and beyond. She advocates for her patient to ensure they are getting the best care. Meg recently had a family emergency that took place while she was at work; however, Meg did not end her shift and she did not change her positive attitude, she continued to care for her sick patients. Meg will sit beside a patient and allow them to cry to her while she is holding their hands. As a trainer, Meg makes sure to tell her students that the care of the patient is always a priority. Even if you have to call a doctor in the middle of the night, you do that to protect your patient. She leads by example at all times.
