Meg has always been a compassionate, dependable and skilled nurse. She recently performed an incredibly difficult job in dealing with a very angry and belligerent family member of a patient whom she was caring for. The daughter was felt to be insulting and disrespectful, but Meg her professionalism.
While the daughter was experiencing the anger stage of the dying process, Meg handled the situation with compassion, both in taking care of the patient and also in providing care for the daughter emotionally as well as spiritually. She remained with the family during the transition process as the patient left the hospital to go into hospice.
Meg exemplifies the true meaning of caring for others with dignity and compassion.
