Throughout this entire traumatic process, she was my rock, and I could not have gotten through my delivery without her.
I was induced at 39 weeks, and after spending 24 hours on the high-risk perinatal floor, where I experienced extremely painful contractions, I was taken to Labor & Delivery to have my baby. There, I was greeted by my nurse, Megan Ambrose. She immediately sensed I was in extreme pain and had a lot of anxiety about the delivery process, and she immediately began calming me down. She held my hand and talked me through the whole ordeal. As it came time to start pushing, she was there every step of the way, even staying late beyond her shift (even forgoing making dinner for her own children) to be with me and see my delivery through. After I delivered the baby, my uterus inverted and I started to panic and feel faint as I was losing lots of blood. Megan stood by me holding my hand, assuring me that everything was going to be ok and that nothing was going to happen to me. Her reassuring words and continuous contact helped me get through this ordeal. She even brought my baby close to me just so I could feel and see her, even though I was in extreme pain and hemorrhaging. In the midst of all this, she even went to console my husband, who was extremely emotional seeing me going through this, and helped calm him down as well. Throughout this entire traumatic process, she was my rock, and I could not have gotten through my delivery without her. She went over and beyond what any nurse would be expected to do, and I am forever indebted to her.
