A client challenged by substance use did not fall through the cracks because Megan Bendrickson did a lot of extra work calling Doctors, Bellin Psych, and insurance to ensure the client got admitted to Bellin Psych and that he could go to inpatient treatment. She went above and beyond nursing, doing case management and both the client and I were greatly appreciative of her effort. It is very likely she saved his life because if he'd been simply discharged, there is a high likelihood he would have used substances again.
