Megan is a detailed nurse and cares for the entire patient. She is the first to get them the food they like, to brush or style their hair, to shave the men who are on the ventilator.
Megan is the definition of teamwork. I hear her ask her peers what she can do for them at least 5 times an hour. She never sits, goes above and beyond. Megan deeply cares for her patients as well as her fellow staff. She finds out about their interests, cheers them on as they progress and spends time with their families during this difficult time. She had a patient recently who was here for quite a while. The family was so anxious about not being here with the patient due to COVID. She set up a FaceTime schedule and spent 1 hour each day with the patient and family on FaceTime. Not only did she answer the families’ questions but spent time just getting to know them as well as talk about things that the patient was interested in. This helped the patient and family get through the difficult hospitalization and lowered their anxiety.

Megan is a detailed nurse and cares for the entire patient. She is the first to get them the food they like, to brush or style their hair, to shave the men who are on the ventilator. She not only takes care of what brought them to the hospital but strives to meet all of their needs and with a smile. She is one of the most compassionate nurses I have ever worked with.

Megan has been an amazing example during COVID. When it started all the staff was anxious and afraid. Megan stepped up and took care of the COVID patients with ease. She even picked up extra shifts to help as we learned to care for this population. Her neighbors began to notice what she was doing and stepped up to help. They took turns delivering meals for us as we worked extra shifts. They lined the streets at night when she would come home and applauded her for her work that day. Her example helped all of us as nurses feel inspired to face COVID, provide great care through COVID, and to beat COVID.
