Megan sat down next to the patient and held her hand while I removed the old dressings. The patient was crying, and Megan looked into her eyes and compassionately began to talk her down, along with holding her hand and holding her body. I could see the patient just "fall" into Megan and see the patient begin to relax. It was obvious to me and the patient that Megan was very genuine in what she was saying, and the patient felt secure and safe.
