May 2025 Honoree
Megan Davies, RN II
My husband was admitted to N2 with CHF. We were both nervous and overwhelmed. Megan was amazing. She explained what was happening, updated both of us, and made us feel comfortable. That would have been enough, but she went above and beyond. On our last night there, she knelt down beside my husband’s bed, eye to eye, and explained in a kind and gentle way how he could take care of himself so that he didn’t end up right back in the hospital. As I watched her, it reminded me of what nursing is all about. It involves having knowledge and skill. It is managing patient symptoms. It is prioritizing and facilitating. But at the end of the day, it is about the genuine care, the eye-to-eye, and the connection with the patient. Times may change the profession of nursing, but as Megan showed on that day, it doesn’t change the heart of the nurse
Thank you, Megan, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
