I nominate Megan for the DAISY Award because recently we had a pre-teen girl admitted to the PICU for cardiomyopathy. The patient had an extended stay in the PICU and never really felt super sick. Megan went out of her way to buy crafts to bring to work for the patient to engage in. Megan would do crafts with her and even came in on her off days to bring her a friendship bracelet kit. A couple of us nurses also dressed up and Megan eagerly participated. Megan also played games with her and I know the patient referred to her as a best friend. It was evident both mom and patient appreciated all she did.
