Megan always goes above and beyond for her patients and their families. Her deeds never go unnoticed, but there is one case in particular that needs to be recognized. A single mother was going through some extraordinary circumstances with her child. Their ICU stay spanned many months, with the child experiencing many critical moments. This mother balanced the daily hospital stresses while being alone and 8 months pregnant with very minimal resources. Recognizing the extraordinary circumstances this mother faced, Megan took it upon herself to help. She started by organizing a baby goods drive for this mother and collected donations for other items. She even prioritized a pack-and-play for the mom to bring back and forth between the hospital and home. This equipment is crucial for new moms staying in the ICU, as it allows their newborn to safely stay overnight for breastfeeding while allowing the mom to be there for both of her children at once. As if just gifting the items was not enough, Megan even planned a sweet “baby shower” for the mom in the hospital room with the staff. Games and decorations included! The mom could not stop expressing her gratitude and said, “I feel like I’m actually able to be excited and celebrate this baby for the first time.” The world needs more Megans!
