I had major surgery performed and was taken to PACU post-surgery for observation. Megan Effertz was my RN taking over my care that afternoon/evening. She was ABSOLUTELY wonderful. Megan was patient, caring, kind, and compassionate, and took every measure that she could to ensure I was as comfortable as I could be given the situation. In order for me to be released to go home, my pain needed to be under control as well as one other goal that needed to be met. I will never forget Megan caring deeply when I was hurting and trying everything possible to get my pain under control. She also went above and beyond to try and help me meet my other goals and to do everything that we could to prevent me from being admitted overnight. Unfortunately, my body didn’t want to cooperate and by the end of her shift (of which she even stayed later just for me) I ended up having to be admitted. Having Megan as my nurse made my time after surgery a little more bearable. I cannot say “Thank You” enough for her being there anytime I needed her, for putting in her best effort and knowledge to help me, and for staying past her scheduled shift without hesitation. This was actually my second time having Megan as my nurse, I believe, as I’m pretty sure she was my PACU RN after a procedure I had previously. She was just as exceptional then as she was this time. THANK YOU for being an incredible nurse and a compassionate person. Continue being that light and comfort for those who need it. I will never forget your kind heart and sweet smile. You’re truly one of the best!
