Megan Everly, RN
Thank you to our angel OB nurse, Megan. As a fellow Labor & Delivery nurse, I know firsthand the demands of this job and the profound impact a compassionate nurse can have on a family during a vulnerable time. Megan went far above and beyond her nursing duties during one of the most difficult moments of our lives.
While I was intubated following a severe postpartum hemorrhage, she facilitated skin-to-skin with my baby and me and initiated pumping on my behalf. Exclusively breastfeeding was incredibly important to me, and I truly believe that because of Megan's efforts during those critical early hours, my milk came in fully at just two days postpartum despite the significant blood loss I experienced. Today, my baby is exclusively breastfed and thriving. In addition to her exceptional clinical care, Megan showed extraordinary compassion. She offered to stay with me so my husband could finally get something to eat and grab coffee after being awake for more than 24 hours during our ordeal. That simple act of kindness meant more to us than words can express.
