She is a role model, a mentor, and a fierce advocate for patient safety and for the profession of nursing.
Megan first came to Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara in 2017 as the Director of Maternal Child Health, was promoted to Associate Chief Nurse Executive, and has served with distinction as the Chief Nurse Executive for over three years. During her tenure, Megan has made significant contributions to the organization, including the following:

• Collaborated with key stakeholders to ensure an effective pandemic response to expand capacity to meet community needs

• Assisted in expediting the opening of department 210 during the COVID pandemic to accommodate the surge

• Charted the Magnet journey pathway set to submit the document in 2023

• Launched and expanded the Healthy Work Environment journey

• Sustained eight consecutive quarters of Leapfrog grade ‘A,’ placing patient safety as a top priority

• Maintained Maternal Child Quality and Sustainability award from CMQCC

• 1st Associate Chief Nurse Executive at Santa Clara establishing structure and precedent

• Supported expanded specialty training programs and a new RN graduate program

Another significant contribution is the culture she has built here at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara. A culture that ensures we take care of ourselves and each other and brings to life our nursing vision: “As leaders, clinicians, researchers, innovators, and scientists, Kaiser Permanente nurses are advancing the delivery of excellent, compassionate care for our members across the continuum and boldly transforming care to improve the health of our communities and nation. Extraordinary Nursing Care. Every Patient. Every Time”

This culture is palpable throughout the hospital thanks to Megan’s leadership. She is a role model, a mentor, and a fierce advocate for patient safety and for the profession of nursing. On Megan’s signature block is the following quote by Napoleon Hill, “It is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others succeed.” This is evident in everything she does – whether you’re meeting with her individually, in a group discussion, or while rounding on the nursing units. Megan consistently models the way, fosters collaboration, and strengthens others, making each person feel heard and capable.
