Megan is always dedicated and passionate, using her training and expertise to care for our patients. Recently, she showed extra compassion when she went out of her way to arrange an outing for a patient who'd not left her hospital room in nearly a month.
After getting the OK from the doctors to leave the unit, Megan was determined to get her patient out and about for some fresh air. Managing an IV pole, transport monitor, oxygen tank and two chest tube drainage systems, Megan took her patient out to a lunch date in the cafeteria before enjoying some sunshine in the garden. The pair visited the library, popped in to the gift shop for treats and watched TV in the lobby lounge. Both came back to the unit a few hours later still smiling.
The patient's doctors were thrilled she'd finally gotten a much needed break—one that they hoped would really benefit her recovery. It was truly inspirational to watch Megan.
