She went above and beyond to make sure we were cared for both mentally and physically. Meghan is an angel sent from God. I feel she was put in my path at that time of need.
I was airlifted to UAMS due to pre-term labor. Upon arrival, I was doing so good they decided to move me down to the perinatal on floor E6. I was greeted by Meghan who was my night nurse. I suffer from bad anxiety and Meghan noticed right off the bat and asked if she could sit by bed and if I wanted to talk about it. I’ve never had a nurse go out of her way, the way that Meghan did for my whole entire stay. Unfortunately, my daughter ended up being born at 23 weeks and 3 days gestation. Meghan exceeded her warmth and empathy not just in the care for my physical well-being but my mental well-being also. She prayed with me multiple times, talked with me, kept me calm when my world fell apart, and most of all, not just me but my family, who were there with me as well. She went above and beyond to make sure we were cared for both mentally and physically. Meghan is an angel sent from God. I feel she was put in my path at that time of need. I received excellent care from all the staff doctors, nurses, chaplains, baby nurses, baby doctors, etc. during our stay. Everyone was so kind and respectful.

But the one and most thoughtful nurse who stood out the most and who really went above and beyond was Megan Hemphill. Meghan made such an impact on me that I will never forget how gracious a complete stranger can be during the hardest time in my life. She truly deserves the best because she’s an amazing nurse, and person, and now who I can call a true friend. Her heart truly is not to exceed the care of her patient’s physical needs but their mental needs and well-being also. To me, that’s extremely important, and you don’t see that too often. I would like to thank all the UAMS doctors, nurses, baby specialists, and everyone who helped with assistance.

I hope Meghan Hemphill is recognized for her wonderful ability as a nurse in all her abilities she exceeds. Please accept this recognition from me.

Thank you, Great job, Megan!
