I was so encouraged by how much she cared, it truly helped me stay motivated and moving.
I really did not want to be in the hospital anymore. I was feeling so scared and alone and it didn’t seem like anything was working. When my mom and brother left that day all I wanted was to go home with them. Megan was a beacon in the dark. She saw I was distressed and was so sympathetic and reassuring. She made sure I knew I was doing everything right and they were doing everything they could. After she comforted me, she also reached out to my doctor to let them know I was desperate to get out of there and to see if we could start progressing treatment ASAP. While every staff member I’ve met has wanted me to get healthy, I really felt like Megan was in my corner. The doctor approved and the next steps would be started with the night shift. The first thing Megan did when she came in the next morning was to check on me and see how it had gone. She was almost as disappointed as I was to hear it had been pushed back overnight, but seemed even more invigorated to get me healthy. Again, I was so encouraged by how much she cared, it truly helped me stay motivated and moving. She is insightful, upbeat, reassuring, and overall an amazing nurse who made my experience much better.
