Megan Jo Carter exemplified extraordinary nursing practice, vigilance, and dedication to patient safety during a critical patient event.
While monitoring a patient virtually, Megan noticed the patient appeared altered, was breathing shallowly, and the pulse oximeter was intermittently alarming. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, Megan acted immediately. She promptly messaged the (mobile heartbeat system) MHB and simultaneously called the bedside nurse to report her concerns. Throughout this time, Megan remained on camera with the patient, continuously monitoring their condition until help arrived at the bedside.
Megan’s swift assessment, decisive communication, and unwavering presence ensured rapid intervention by the care team. Her quick actions were instrumental in preventing further deterioration and ultimately assisted in saving the patient’s life.
