During her procedure, Megan held her hand and provided more comfort than she realized by letting her share recipes. She is still talking about how much that meant to her.
I would like to recognize Megan Cooper for the care she provided to my adopted grandmother during a recent Interventional Radiology visit. She had been experiencing abdominal pain and swelling.
A scan at her local ER showed ascites and findings concerning for malignancy. She was transferred to DMH for further evaluation. She arrived alone, frightened, and overwhelmed by the possibility of such serious news. What could have been one of the most terrifying moments of her life was met instead with kindness and compassion from the IR team.
Nana loves to cook. During her procedure, Megan held her hand and provided more comfort than she realized by letting her share recipes. She is still talking about how much that meant to her. She shares with everyone entering the room (family and staff) how good her care in the IR was.
Thank you for providing excellent clinical care and providing emotional comfort to someone who has spent her own life caring for and “adopting” others. I am deeply grateful.
