Our family had a great experience on SNICU, but one nurse stood out above the others. Megan went above and beyond to make sure our family was comfortable with what was happening. Our father/grandfather was admitted there after suffering a stroke and sepsis. It came to the point where he was put on palliative care. Megan was our nurse for two days and she made sure that we all understood what was happening. We have a large family and we came in 2 at a time. She made sure each time that the family members who came in understood, explained what was going on, and answered any questions we had. She was very caring and positive to our father/grandfather as well as to us. He was transferred to the palliative care unit, where he did pass away a few hours later. After Megan's shift was over, she came down to the unit to check in on him as well as to make sure our mother/grandmother was doing well. She did not have to do that but she made every member of our large family feel at ease about the entire situation. She is an amazing nurse, but an even better person. We are very grateful to have had Megan as our nurse.
