From the moment we met Megan we felt instantly comfortable. There are some people that are perfectly suited for their occupation and that was/is Megan. She was so sweet and patient with our 2-year-old son who was hospitalized due to croup. Megan was beyond attentive. She stayed to answer our endless questions and most importantly, built a relationship with our son to help reassure and calm him. She had an ease about her that was so assuring. She spoke to our son with respect, and understanding, allowed him to feel an element of control with “choices” and worded things in a way he could understand (ie: when using the blood pressure cuff, “you’re going to get a hug with this” or when she took his temperature, “you can put this under your tongue or under your arm.”) She also brought our son little things that made him smile or laugh (which, as parents, filled our hearts with joy to see). The pediatric patients are so fortunate to have Megan to care for them. I know we will remain grateful to her for the rest of our lives for how well she cared for our son when he was at his most vulnerable.
