Megan Metzger-Pugh, RN

Both of my parents were admitted to the hospital on the same day. Megan was the nurse for my Mom for 2 of the days. While my mom was dealing with her health issue, she was also trying to process that my dad was very ill and needed to be placed on comfort care. Megan was an absolutely critical piece as I needed to be with my dad. She listened to, comforted, and kept an open line of communication with me and my brother. Special connection? Megan was a godsend to be able to handle my mom and this very complicated situation. Could not have gotten through this without her. Above and Beyond? My mother can be a very difficult person, and mentally was not in a good place trying to understand what happened to my dad. Megan helped with getting my mom to the meeting I needed to have with Palliative care and my dad's doctor. She brought my mom to see my dad and then assisted with making calls to get Mom and Dad on the same floor. When they finally got him on the 8th floor, Megan was still there an hour past her shift. Compassion? Absolutely-for my mom and my brother and I, as well as my dad. She kept telling me that she appreciated me! She was amazing!
