From the moment we met you, we felt confident in your care
Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork.
Megan displayed each of these five core values in every interaction we had with her.

Compassion:
Megan showed deep compassion not only to our newborn daughter, but also to my wife and me during one of the most emotional experiences of our lives. We also witnessed her warmth and empathy toward other nurses, NPs, and physicians in the NICU.

Accountability:
Every commitment Megan made to us, she fulfilled. She did exactly what she said she would do, consistently, reliably, and with excellence.

Respect:
Megan treated us with profound respect, recognizing the emotional weight of our situation and honoring the vulnerability we were experiencing. She put us at ease simply by acknowledging and understanding what we were going through.

Integrity:
Her integrity as a nurse was undeniable. It was effortless for my wife and me to trust her. We felt it immediately, and that trust only deepened throughout our stay.

Teamwork:
We witnessed exemplary teamwork across the NICU, and Megan was fully engaged, collaborating seamlessly, supporting her colleagues, and ensuring the highest level of coordinated care.

A Specific Story That Made a Meaningful Difference

Megan,

I want to thank you for your competence, your kindness, and your professionalism. From the moment we met you, we felt confident in your care. My wife and I were extremely emotional after learning that our daughter would be taken to the NICU immediately following her birth. Walking to the postpartum room while the “new baby” song played over the PA, without our baby, was devastating. We were overwhelmed, frightened, and unsure what to expect, with very few answers in those early moments.

All of that changed when we received our first update from you.

Your report about our daughter, your explanation of her condition, what was being done, and what we should expect, was delivered with such clarity, respect, and compassion that our fear eased instantly. You didn’t just care for our daughter; you cared for us as her parents. The way you communicated showed not only your medical knowledge and clinical skill, but your genuine heart for families who find themselves suddenly thrust into the unknown.

Every time we asked to hold her, you were right there, helpful, patient, and eager to make sure we could enjoy those moments safely and comfortably. When my wife wanted to begin breastfeeding, the guidance you provided was remarkable. The way you helped get Remington latched and feeding, along with the techniques and reassurance you offered, was on the same level as the lactation RN we worked with when our twin sons were born just 17 months earlier.

Megan, you were our very first impression of the NICU, and you set the tone for our entire experience. You have every skill, every bit of knowledge, and most importantly, the gift of true patient and family-centered care. That kind of compassion cannot be taught. It’s who you are.

You were called to this profession, and we are so grateful that you were placed in our path when we needed someone like you the most.

Our little girl is thriving! She has so much energy, keeps us on our toes, and is already far more expressive than her 19-month-old twin brothers were at her age. She is precious, spirited, and healthy, and we are endlessly thankful for the level of care you provided to her and to us.

Thank you again, Megan.
