Megan ALWAYS goes above and beyond for the patients and families that we serve. The work that she does behind the scenes is so often more than what anyone sees or recognizes (regularly supporting staff, ensuring the unit runs smoothly, teaching families, helping to cover shifts, etc.). Most recently, the team was working on discharging a child. The family was struggling with training and I asked Megan if a specific nurse or two specific nurses could work with this family. My hope was with consistency the family could ultimately get their child home. Megan stepped in and volunteered to come in at times that worked best for the family to complete the training. Megan is patient, understanding, and kind. She meets people where they are at and guides them to where they need to be. Megan has a way of partnering with families in some of the most challenging situations. In this specific situation, with her commitment to this child, she was able to help us successfully get this family home together.
