March 2024 Honoree
Megan Palczynski, RN
Megan was my nurse for three shifts during my hospital stay. I was experiencing a first time afib event with an accompanied respiratory infection. At 68 years old, this was my first overnight hospital stay, so I was somewhat overwhelmed by the ordeal. Megan was extremely kind, understanding, and helpful throughout my entire stay. I felt I had someone who could not only help me through the daily obstacles of staying in the hospital for the first time but, more importantly, I had an advocate who could convey to the doctors and other healthcare professionals the medical issues I was having. When the doctors talked to me, Megan would help clarify the diagnoses and possible strategies to correct my problems. I observed numerous instances in which Megan demonstrated to me that she is a very kind, knowledgeable, hardworking, and caring healthcare professional. In closing, I feel very fortunate and grateful to have Megan as one of my nurses. She also gave me a new appreciation for the important work that hospital nurses perform.
Thank you, Megan, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
