A patient was brought in by medic. This patient lived in a shelter, was kind, and his medical condition was one that needed care and medication. This patient had no family, and he had only a few friends also from the shelter. Without transportation, this patient was not able to ride a private medic due to insurance type. We had no bus tokens in the ED, and our supervisor was off for the week. Megan made a few calls to find tokens for this patient. Finally, she found the magic tokens she needed and was able to be the advocate this patient needed. After giving him a meal and a few sodas she got him to the bus stop and made sure he knew which bus he needed. Proud to have her in our family at the Kettering Grandview Network!
