October 2015 Honoree
megan rude, RN
We had a young lady as a patient that was 40 years old, married and had a four year old son. She spent a couple of weeks at the Hospice House during the end of life. Megan had grown a great bond with the family and had promised them that she would be here for them when the time came. On the evening of the patient's death, I had called Megan to inform her that the time was close. Megan came in that night and spent a couple of hours providing much needed support to this family. Megan's two daughters came along and played with the patient's four year old son as well. This was a day off for Megan but she fufilled her promise to this family, cried with them, laughed with them. Megan's compassion for this patient's family went above and beyond. This shows what a caring and compassionate nurse she is.
Thank you, Megan, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
