September 2021 Honoree
Megan Senkaleski, BSN, RN
My daughter E, who is 9, was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor. It has taken a toll on our lives completely and we will never be the same. The doctors and staff, everyone, have been so helpful and caring. E’s nurse in particular an oncology nurse named Megan has been the most amazing person to my daughter. E loves coming to see her each and every week that we are here. As my daughter describes her, “I love Megan, she’s so pretty, she makes me feel safe and always makes sure I’m ok! Megan plays games with me, she makes videos and she’s my friend.” As this chemo treatment ends, we will both miss her a ton. I’m glad we won’t be here but we’ll miss her stories and presence as she was a strong role model in my daughter’s life. People like her make this easier on families going through this. She has had nothing but a positive attitude and she’s so sweet with E.
Thank you, Megan, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
