While placing a PICC line on one of Megan’s patients, the patient had expressed to me how extraordinary Megan was. The patient expressed how happy she was with the care from the staff. However, Megan specifically stood out to her. She stated that Megan was such a patient advocator and provided her with excellent care. She ensured that the patient was safe no matter what and showed great compassion through her care. She described her as being part of the patient’s miracle team. Apparently, the patient had multiple co-morbidities and underwent an extensive surgery. The patient described the whole situation as a miracle. She spoke very highly of Megan. She even described Megan as being one of her angels.
Speaking with the patient showed that Megan was doing such a great job being her Nurse. Also, knowing Megan, I know how great of a Nurse she is. We were both part of the team that started the PICC Team here at San Antonio. She does her job with the utmost integrity. Always wanting to grow and develop into an even better Nurse than she already is. She deserves to be the recipient of the DAISY Award.
