My husband had surgery January 21. The best made plans are subject to change. That's what happened - his epidural wasn't working properly. Our night nurse, Megan, was the best, trying to get pain relief for him and keeping us posted on progress. She was positive and supportive during difficult times. I remember holding his hand, it was dark and cold, I was freezing, Megan saw me and came back with the warmest blanket. That simple act of kindness will be forever embedded in my mind. She not only took great care of the "Love of my life", but also looked after me. I know there are many excellent nurses but to us, she's the best.
