Meggan was nominated by the majority of her classmates. Her peers witnessed her demonstrating the characteristics of a DAISY recipient consistently throughout the nursing program. She is absolutely amazing with patients and cares so much about her work. A student notes: "I would be honored to have her care for me or one of my family members." Meggan displays a friendly bedside manner and advocates for her patients on a daily basis. She gets along with patients, families, and coworkers alike. She has a positive attitude and uplifts her classmates all the time. Her nursing knowledge and skills are also excellent. She provides holistic care to patients, advocates strongly for mental health and is respectful and kind towards patients and family members. She brings a smile to everyone's face. Meggan is one of the kindest and supportive people. She is gracious and humble, extremely approachable and incredibly down to earth. She is also helpful and encouraging toward her peers.  Another student wrote: "I finally caught a glimpse of the "connection" that Megg makes with patients during preceptorship when she and her RN were taking over my patient load. When introducing her and her preceptor to the patient and family, she made an instant emotional connection. The family, distraught with their son's MVA and subsequent admission, connected with her in 5 minutes in a way that I could barely touch over a 12-hour shift. It was incredible. But she doesn't just save it for the floor. I have also seen the compassion and respect with which she treats our classmates several times over the course of nursing school, I have witnessed her go out of her way to reach out to others who look distraught, distracted, or just down. I've seen her bring little gifts for people she's heard had a rough shift to show them they are not alone. Even on days where everyone is at their wits end with care-planning and exams, she's gone out of her way to make sure we're all surviving. If I had to pick any one of us who truly shows a nurse's heart, I think she'd be it." Kudos to Meggan!
