May 2026 Honoree
Meghan Carr, RN
My son is autistic and nonspeaking. We do not normally go to the ER, but my son has been very sick this week. He was treated for strep, and she was his nurse on his first visit there; she was amazing! She was so kind and compassionate; she spoke to him and was very respectful of his space. He did not improve, and we returned to the ER to find out he then had mono and needed fluids. The whole team was an absolute blessing, but Megan often followed him, offered him toys, and made a really awful situation a little easier. I've been an RN and have never nominated someone for the DAISY Award, but she was truly the embodiment of what a compassionate RN should be, and I felt blessed to have her with us twice to help us in our time of need.
Thank you, Meghan, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
