A patient on labor and delivery had been admitted for close to a month due to medical needs and monitoring of the unborn baby. On the day of the delivery of the baby, the mother did not have any support people to be with her during the worrisome delivery of her preterm infant. During the delivery, the anxious mother was alone, and Meghan sat down next to her and held her hand through the delivery. She provided encouraging words to the mother which appeared to help calm her down. After the baby was born, Meghan began taking memorable photos of the baby on the mother’s phone. Meghan also made sure that mom had mementos of the baby before the NICU team had to move her to NICU. She also made sure the mother was able to visit her infant in NICU as soon as possible. Meghan stood by this mother and provided very heartfelt and sincere support in a difficult situation. As a fellow nurse and team member, watching Megan throughout this process was very encouraging and inspiring.
