My husband has cancer and was having trouble eating. All his stats were low, and they put in a PEG feeding tube. During the two-week stay, we met Meghan, and she was the best nurse we had over the two weeks. She was attentive and caring, despite being very busy. I asked her to learn how to do the tube feedings, so over three days she demonstrated the process and then allowed me to do the feedings, gently reminding me if I forgot anything. While she was off, I told the new nurse I could do the feeding and when I demonstrated what I had learned, he said, “Wow, you’ve got this!” Meghan always left the room in better shape than when she came in. She is the best example of a skilled and caring caregiver. She deserves to be nominated for best in class.
