My entire family would like to thank nurse Meghan Schmucker and have her receive a DAISY Award for the following reasons.

Passion/Compassion:
Meghan exhibited great compassion for our father/brother/husband.

Empathy:
Meghan was very attentive to him - remembering him a week later and being excited about being able to care for him a little longer.

Trust and Teamwork:
Meghan and her natural characteristics and work ethic make her shine. Meghan was transferred to the 4th floor when her open heart surgery nursing schedule was canceled. That afternoon, Meghan was the only attendant to assist the patient with his first shower since his surgery. I was grateful he was in her care even if it was only a shift.

Admirable Attributes:  
Meghan was steadfast - encouraging him to wake up, move him around, change his bedding and ensured he was clean and showered.

Love for Patients and Nursing:
Meghan was adamant about carrying out doctor’s orders for exercise and cleanliness.

Selflessness:
Meghan is constantly and consistently attending to patient and family needs.

Nurse Meghan deserves this award because she shines in every aspect of what DAISY is about.
