I honestly don't think I would have gotten through those 3 weeks spent at Valley in Antepartum if it wasn't for her advice to journal. I journaled and did crafts every single day.
I got checked into the hospital at 28 weeks pregnant, unsure if I would be delivering a sick baby or trying to keep the baby inside for as long as possible. After spending 3 nights on the Labor and Delivery floor with 24-hour monitoring, I got moved to the postpartum floor for antepartum care. Meghan was one of my first nurses, and she was so kind and caring. She was professional and knowledgeable of her care. Meghan, however, went above and beyond in the care she gave me. She treated me like a person and not just a patient.
Meghan gave me great tips to help me through the days I would spend in the hospital. She told me she had a friend who spent 5 weeks in the hospital and gave me tips on how to help pass the time and keep myself busy. She suggested I journal and do crafts, and I honestly don't think I would have gotten through those 3 weeks spent at Valley in Antepartum if it wasn't for her advice to journal. I journaled and did crafts every single day. I've never journaled before in my life, but it really helped me keep track of the days and have a reason to get out of bed. I look forward to journaling every day, as it gives me something to look back on.
Staying in the hospital for monitoring for weeks is tough mentally and Meghan really helped me get through that. The compassion that Meghan showed and the advice she gave helped me more than I can explain. Besides giving that advice to help keep sane and busy she also gave excellent care. I cannot say enough about Meghan, I wish everyone could have a nurse like Meghan. Her care is exceptional.
