I was admitted on a Friday after surgery and by Saturday night things started going downhill. I was very nauseous and my stomach started to feel distended. I wasn’t sure what was going on and it continued to get worse. My nurse came in on Monday morning, very stern, saying I had to get up and walk and not stay in bed all day. This upset me because she didn't realize how horrible I was feeling, but I did what she said, got up and walked, but unfortunately vomited in the hallway and again 2 more times after that. She immediately knew something was definitely wrong and got orders to insert an NG tube, they got out about 2500cc of fluids. Almost instantly, I started to feel better. That same nurse came in the next morning and was very attentive to me and all my needs. I finally got to go home and I truly believe if I hadn’t gotten the NG tube things would have gotten so much worse. We are so grateful to our nurse - Melanie Aguilar! There were other nurses that were so kind, but Melanie was so awesome! Thank you so much!

Thank you, Melanie, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
