We nominate Melanie Berglund, RN for The DAISY Award. There is not a day that we have the pleasure to work with Mel where she is not happy and pleasant. Melanie's leadership skills are excellent. During any situation she has never lost her cool. Melanie is a caring nurse.
In a recent pediatric code she showed her extensive nursing knowledge and compassionate care towards the patient and the patient's family. She was on top of every moment during that code and made sure that everyone worked together to do all that they could in the situation. She was a true advocate for the dignity of the patient and the family. She held the mother and cried with her at the same time when the code was called.
Melanie's nursing care is holistic and loving to patients and the staff that works with her. We all love her personality and spirit. She is a great person to work with because of her compassion, diligence, and love. Melanie deserves The DAISY Award for her compassionate care in nursing.
