My Mom is currently on her 3rd extended visit to Virtua. I wrote a letter to send in that I will share via snail mail about the positive experience we had with the nurses on the ER and ICU during my mother’s first and second stays. I think it is important to recognize these folks. Melanie was my mom’s nurse, and she really stood out! Not only was she kind, approachable, and informative, but she was even funny! I saw her treat other patients with kindness and step in to help other professionals who seemed tired, and she checked in with them to make sure they were okay. Her energy was palpable when she walked into the room, and I could not have been more relieved that my mom was under her care. She was patient, a good listener, and put me at ease, even though we still do not have answers at this point. Please let her know that her energy makes a positive difference!
