My husband has a lot of anxiety about medical stuff since he has been through so much and she was so good at keeping him calm. She was so reassuring and kind.
My husband had a total knee replacement and ended up with multiple blood clots. I took him to the ER since he was having pressure in his chest and his leg was very swollen. When we got into the room in the ER, Melanie got to work getting him hooked up and taken care of. She was so amazing! My husband has a lot of anxiety about medical stuff since he has been through so much and she was so good at keeping him calm. She went over and above what she needed to do. She was so reassuring and kind. She is key in why my husband decided to stay at Roane Medical instead of being transferred to another facility. My husband ended up having to stay in the ER till at least 4 in the morning since the floor was full. Melanie was off at 11 pm but he did continue to receive great care the rest of that night which we were thankful for. When he got to the floor and it was shift change at 7 am the new nurse came in for his care that day and we were thrilled to find out it was Melanie again!!!! She just has a way of calming her patients and her care is exceptional! My husband ended up staying several days and it was rough but we couldn't have done it without her initial care. She even told the next nurse that she was going to love us and that just made us feel so good. We ended up having to go back to the ER several days later and she saw us come in. Even though we were not on her side she took just a minute to come say Hi and to let us know she would be thinking of us! I have always said that true nurses should always have compassion for their job and their patients. You can truly tell she loves what she does and has loads of compassion for her patients and coworkers!
