On behalf of Jim's family, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Melanie for all that she did for this wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Melanie was one of several nurses who cared for him and she was with him during the last days of his life. Melanie's care was outstanding, and I don't say that lightly as a healthcare worker myself. She was attentive yet professional, she was thoughtful and kind. Every time she came into Jim's room you could see the sincerity in her demeanor. Melanie is the epitome of what every nurse (and hospital team member) should demonstrate. She is the type of nurse every family member wants taking care of their loved one.

Every call light was answered immediately, every question answered, every concern dealt with. Melanie, thank you. If you were "crazy" busy, you never let on. You made Jim and his family feel cared for throughout his last days. You're the best and we hope you never change. While there is great sadness that he is gone and we miss him, there is relief for him as he was ready to end the suffering and "go home". Thank you for making his last days the best that you could. May you have a long and rewarding career.
